I am an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Hong Kong. I study translanguaging, code-switching, and stylization in K-12 subject classrooms where English is the medium of instruction, such as Content Integrated Language Learning (CLIL) in English as a Foreign Language contexts and sheltered instruction in English as a Second Language contexts.
My recent research has appeared in Applied Linguistics Review, Modern Language Journal, Foreign Language Annals, and International Journal of Multilingualism. I have taught pre- and in-service K-12 teachers at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa, the University of British Columbia, and Simon Fraser University. I also have a decade of experience teaching and designing introductory and graduate level EAP curricula.
